This advanced course will enable you to work with problem dogs and their owners at a professional level.

You’ll learn how to diagnose the cause of psychological problems, and to formulate a programme for their resolution, in a theoretical and practical capacity.

The course consists of five units, covering areas such as training, behaviour and diet.

You’ll receive your first unit as soon as you enrol, so you can start whenever you want, and progress through the course at your own pace, studying when and where you choose.

We’d recommend you complete our Intermediate Canine Psychology course or a similar level of study before undertaking this course.

Health and Behaviour:
• Common problems
• How health affects behaviour
• Common behaviour problems
• The development of drug therapy
• Real life case histories

Study Length

There are no deadlines for this course. Simply study in the comfort of your own home, and in your own time.

Distance learning is designed to be flexible, but as a guide, students who can spend 4-6 hours a week studying tend to complete a single unit within a month.

Qualifications

On successful completion of this course you’ll receive the Animal Care College Certificate* in Advanced Canine Psychology, graded to show the standard you have reached. There are no exams.

You will also receive the Certificate of Achievement at Level 4 from ABC Awards and Certa Awards when you complete this course**.

This confirms that you have completed a validated training course at a recognised level of study.
